About me

Hi I'm Janna and I am a book whore! I started this blog after being a part of another for years. While being a big blog may be nice I like to stay true to me having a love for books, that's why I blog. I love books and I want to share that love with my readers of this blog. I love to read, books are my escape and a huge part of my life besides my husband and two children. I am honest and sometimes sassy in my reviews but never mean. Some of my favorite authors include Kristen Ashley, Penelope Douglas, T.M. Frazier, M.N. Forgy, Rachel Van Dyken, Meghan March and Vi Keeland to only name a few!

Please note that I am the ONLY reviewer on the blog beyond a few guest reviews. It has been brought to my attention that people not associated with my blog have been requesting ARCs please if you ever question a request please email me at the blog's email.

Release Blitz! On The DL By Laramie Briscoe

A second-chance romance as scorching hot as a baseball diamond in August.

Slater "Savage" Harlow

Winning the MVP award for the Birmingham Bandits last year was the highlight of my baseball career. It was the culmination of childhood dreams, calculated adult decisions, sacrifice, and a hell of a lot of focus. Tearing my ACL in spring training? Not what I expected at all.

Now I'm home, in small town Georgia, rehabbing in the comfort of my own home, with people I know. I'm connecting with friends I haven't had time to talk to in years, spending days at home with my parents, and getting to watch my little brother play minor league baseball.

What I don't expect is to see Malone Fulcher walking into Del's Diner one morning while having my coffee and egg whites.

She's old flame, the one who got away, and the woman I compare all others to.

Malone Fulcher

Spending the summer in my hometown wasn't what I had planned, but it's what I need. Recovering from a hard year, both personally and professionally, I need to reconnect with who I am. When my mom encouraged me to come home and do some soul searching, I can't say no.

Memories are all over this small town, from the Baptist Church to the east field on my parents farm, to the diner. On my second day in town, I decide to go in, memories be damned.

I lost my breath as soon as I saw "Savage" Harlow sitting alone at a booth. Our eyes lock, my heart flutters, and my hands shake - all the same way they did back in high school. But back then we couldn't make it work. Going our separate ways to differing colleges, we decided we weren't meant to be.

A decade later, as soon as our eyes meet, I'm wondering if we were right, because those green eyes of his do nothing but take me to a past that I can see being my future.

Author's Note: This does end in somewhat of a cliffhanger!

On The DL is a bit different than what we are used to from Laramie Briscoe but I loved it! This is the first book in the duet but have no fears book two releases soon so there isn’t a huge wait. I like the way that Ms. Briscoe has broken the book up, I think it works well with the bit of a cliffhanger we get because it adds to the emotions you are left with. I haven’t started book two yet, but I am anxious to do so.

Slate and Malone have history, they were high school sweethearts and had planned on getting married. Sometimes though, sometimes the timing is wrong, or fears become apparent that tears a relationship apart. Words that are said, emotions that become out of control, wounded pride and broken hearts can shape us for years to come. Not everyone gets a second chance, not everyone has the chance of being with the one who still holds a piece of your heart and soul. The question is, will Slate and Malone learn from their past mistakes or will history repeat itself?

The chemistry between Slate and Malone was undeniable and time hasn’t changed that. Both are stubborn at times and I wanted to shake them both more than once but at the same time I could see where their stubbornness was coming from.

Yes, On The DL ends in a cliffhanger, and no that does not bother me one bit. I think, for me at least it has made me even more excited to read MVP. I know some people will complain about that, and to each is their own but there is a reason why it is written that way, and no one should question why an author does what they do. I highly recommend On The DL, and if you want to wait for MVP to release before starting it then so be it but I hope you won’t wait because this is one I really enjoyed.
