About me

Hi I'm Janna and I am a book whore! I started this blog after being a part of another for years. While being a big blog may be nice I like to stay true to me having a love for books, that's why I blog. I love books and I want to share that love with my readers of this blog. I love to read, books are my escape and a huge part of my life besides my husband and two children. I am honest and sometimes sassy in my reviews but never mean. Some of my favorite authors include Kristen Ashley, Penelope Douglas, T.M. Frazier, M.N. Forgy, Rachel Van Dyken, Meghan March and Vi Keeland to only name a few!

Please note that I am the ONLY reviewer on the blog beyond a few guest reviews. It has been brought to my attention that people not associated with my blog have been requesting ARCs please if you ever question a request please email me at the blog's email.

Release Blitz! Misadventures With A Rookie By Toni Aleo

perf5.250x8.000.inddWinning has always come naturally for stud ice hockey defenseman Gus “the Bus” Persson. On the ice or off, he’s never had any trouble scoring, racking up goals—and girls. As the best player in his rookie class and the number-one draft pick of the Malibu Suns, he’s taking his game to the next level and is justifiably full of swagger. So why does one of the Suns’ ice girls treat him like he’s invisible? Bo St. James doesn’t have time for rookie hotshots who think their gloves don’t stink. She knows them, she works with them, she trains them. It doesn’t matter that Gus Persson is the hottest newbie she’s ever seen. She knows his type. She’s got big plans of her own, and she’s not going to let some cocky rich kid athlete keep her from her goals. But there’s a chemistry between them they cannot deny. A lust that burns so hot, it threatens to melt the very ice on which they make their livings. The game has changed for both of them. Together, can these two play to win?
Hockey is my favorite sport and Toni Aleo is one of my go to hockey romance authors. I was excited to start Misadventures with a Rookie and I really enjoyed this one overall. I am just going to get this one part out of the way and then I will say why I liked this one as much as I did. Bo’s full name I hated. I won’t spoil it but it just made my cringe when I would see it.

Now besides that I really enjoyed how Bo and Gus’ relationship formed and played out. I mean what’s more romantic than spending er visits together, I know you are probably asking yourself how in the hell is that romantic well when you read the book it will make sense. Gus was the one and done guy, all the girls knew this but what started out as Gus wanting in Bo’s panties quickly turned into something more. Bo has secrets though, she’s been hurt before and all she can think about is what another hockey player had done to her. I felt for her, between some of the hurtful comments her mom would say, the secret she has and the inability to see that not all players are the same had my heart breaking. Gus was funny, he was surprisingly sweet and he was exactly who Bo needed in her life if she opens her eyes to see what is in front of her.

Misadventures with a Rookie was the hockey fix that I had been needing. It was well balanced with angst, emotional moments, hilarity, sexiness and romance. I hope we get books about some of the other players we were introduced to in this book because I would love to read more.

About the Author:

My name is Toni Aleo and I’m a total dork.
I am a wife, mother of two and a bulldog, and also a hopeless romantic.
I am the biggest Shea Weber fan ever, and can be found during hockey season with my nose pressed against the Bridgestone Arena’s glass, watching my Nashville Predators play!
When my nose isn’t pressed against the glass, I enjoy going to my husband and son’s hockey games, my daughter’s dance competition, hanging with my best friends, taking pictures, scrapbooking, and reading the latest romance novel.
I have a slight Disney and Harry Potter obsession, I love things that sparkle, I love the color pink, I might have been a Disney Princess in a past life… probably Belle.
… and did I mention I love hockey?
