Poor judgment: knowing better yet doing it anyway.
Flint Stone is a professional in every way.
He’s a police officer with the K-9 unit and works at Gun Barrel High as the school resource officer. In his spare time, he’s working his heart out to create a successful gym from the ground up.
He’s loved by every single person he ever encounters—student, faculty, and employees—Everyone but Camryn Elvis Presley.
The only thing they have in common is their mothers’ poor excuses for names.
Period. The end.
So why is it every time she crosses his path that he has the urge to mess up her perfectly curled hair? Or unbutton a few of her prim and proper buttons?
He knows he should stay away, yet like the high schoolers he’s around every day, he has no choice but to react first and think about the consequences later.
Side note—bad decisions are made, leading to lapses in judgment that threaten both of their jobs. Yet when the time comes, neither one can seem to find the wherewithal to care. Why? Because being bad feels so good.
Lord Have Mercy
had this book whore swooning, laughing out loud and completely in love with
Flint and Camryn’s characters. Like all Lani Lynn Vale books, they are heavily
sprinkled with humor filled moments, sexual chemistry that is undeniable as
well as just enough angst, suspense and drama to keep things interesting. I did
not want Lord Have Mercy to end, like
almost all of this author’s books I was completely and totally invested and did
not want to put it down.
I must say I snorted more than once when Camryn would call
Flint “Flintstone”, and no it’s not only in reference to one of my favorite
childhood cartoons, his name is Flint Stone.
The banter between them, the chemistry, and the undeniable emotions
flowing from them just made me love them even more. My heart broke for both of
these characters during various scenes in the book, but I think what really
pierced my heart was when Camryn moved passed her fears about Flint’s K-9
partner.
Lord Have Mercy is
another must read book from an author I no longer even have to contemplate if I
want to pick up the next book, it is now automatic that I read them. Humor and
sexiness aside, I have always been able to count on Ms. Vale’s books to cheer
me up when I need it the most, and when I read this one it was definitely one
of those times. Please make sure Lord
Have Mercy is on your TBR lists, this is one you won’t want to miss.
