Gemma Wells came to Bliss, Colorado, after a scandal cost her everything. Utterly lost, the disgraced attorney built walls so high that she thinks no one can get through them. She’s given up on love, friendship, and all matters of the heart.
Jesse McCann and Cade Sinclair have floated through life, enjoying the world around them, but never allowing themselves to become a part of it. One look at the pretty attorney and Jesse realizes he’s finally found a reason to stay put. Cade isn’t so sure. He’s crazy about her, but he also knows he doesn’t deserve her.
As they begin to find their way together, a dark secret from Gemma’s past threatens to wreck their futures. Her ex-fiancé is back, bringing danger with him, and their time is running out. Jesse and Cade have to melt this Ice Queen’s heart, or she might not leave Bliss alive.
I knew I had stopped reading this series at some point, not
because I didn’t like it, but because I had so many other books to read this
one fell through the cracks. Chasing
Bliss was a completely new read for this book whore. While Chasing Bliss was as hot as the rest of
the series and still a very good read, for some reason I didn’t like it as much
as I have the previous books. Now don’t start to think I didn’t like the book,
I did, but I think I had a very hard time connecting with Gemma and that is my
issue.
Gemma comes across as an Ice Princess at times, and while
she can be very cold she also has a soft side that once you see you know when
she is using her Ice Princess as a form of protecting herself. Jesse and Cade,
we have seen these two in previous books and I had been curious about their
backstory since we were first introduced to them. My heart broke for them both, but especially
Cade’s past that really molded who he became and his feelings on relationships.
Chasing Bliss was
another suspense filled erotic romance, one that while I didn’t totally love
it, was one I really liked a lot. If you are looking for a hot ménage series,
then check out Chasing Bliss as well
as the previous books in the Nights In Bliss series, I think you will enjoy
them as much as I have.
