Sitting out under the star-filled sky, listening to him wish on star after star, night after night, almost killed me.
He never wished to get better.
He wished for me to be happy.
He wished for me to find the strength to move on.
I told him his wishes were pointless, because happiness wouldn’t exist without him.
I found out soon after he passed away that I was pregnant.
But I had no idea his final wish would bring me something I never thought I’d find again.
One Last Wish was
an emotional story about loss, wishing on stars, friendships, soul mates and
family. I read One Last Wish in one
sitting, I was drawn into the story very quickly and didn’t want to set it down
until I was finished.
Aubrey, or Bre has suffered from the loss of her husband,
her friend, the father of her child that she didn’t even know at the time she
was pregnant with. Denver has wanted to be with Bre for years but has been
waiting for her to be ready to date again. She was supposed to be his years ago
but she ended up dating her husband instead. The chemistry between Denver and
Bre is apparent to everyone but Bre doesn’t want to risk losing Denver as her
friend or losing him and hurting her daughter. Bre at times got on my nerves a
little bit but in general, I liked her for Denver. I loved Denver, I loved his
determination, I loved his love for Bre and her daughter, I loved that he wasn’t
trying to replace the husband that she lost but most important of all I loved
how he was perfect for Bre.
Now I do feel that there was somethings that really didn’t
get closure or were brushed over with not much of a conclusion. Besides that, I
really enjoyed One Last Wish and I
hope that we will get more books in this series in the future. One
Last Wish reminds us that sometimes when we are wishing on stars those
wishes can come true.
