She means those words to be directed toward the woman beside her, not him. But he can’t stop himself
from answering. Not when her ass is the most magnificent thing he’s seen in his life.
Apparently, answering her with ‘not a damn thing’ wasn’t what she was expecting.
She likely wasn’t expecting the baseball she took to the face at his next at bat, either.
All it takes is one ill-fated foul ball, and George Hoffman, Lumberjacks center fielder, falls head over
heels in love with Wrigley Field—and yes, that is her real name.
From that point forward, George and Wrigley fall into a fast whirlwind love that ends with them eloping
to Vegas. And he has his potty mouth, titty bar owning, pain in the ass grandmother to thank for it.
Not that he’s complaining or anything.
Who wouldn’t want to be married to a woman that made his heart race like he was in the final game of
the World Series?
The only problem is trying to convince her of that.
Quit Your Pitchin’, can I just say how much I love the name of this book, is the second book in the There’s No Crying In Baseball series and is a second chance romance. I have to say, I love that Ms. Vale has done a baseball series. Don’t get me wrong I love her MC books and her other series but baseball holds a special place in my heart because of my granddad and lately I have been feeling nostalgic about what was his favorite sport.
George and Wrigley, yes Wrigley as in Wrigley field, have an up and down relationship to put it mildly. I hate to admit how bad my temper can be but Wrigley puts me to shame with her overreactions at times. My heart really broke for George because you can tell how much he loves Wrigley no matter what and his son. Wrigley loves George just as much as well but sometimes you don’t know how to come back from some words you can’t take back. The back and forth between these two go through was emotional, exhausting at times, and heartbreaking. The chemistry is off the charts but is that enough to save their relationship? Well you will have to read the book to find out.
Quit Your Pitchin’ is another book from Lani Lynn Vale that I really enjoyed and can say needs to be on your TBR lists for sure. I can’t wait to read more in this series, and if you haven’t checked this series or her others out yet you need to do so.
