To high-end defense attorney Henry Garrison, Win Hughes is a woman he met during one of the most trying times of his life. She's soft and warm, and he finds solace in their brief relationship. But Win has a secret. She's actually Taylor Winston-Hughes—born to one of the wealthiest families in the country, orphaned as a child by a tragic accident. Win moves in the wealthiest circles, but her lavish lifestyle hides her pain.
When her best friend is murdered in the midst of a glittering New York gala, Win's charged with the crime, and the only person in the world she wants to see is Henry.
Henry is shocked at the true identity of his lover, but he can't reject the case. This trial could take his new firm into the stratosphere. Still, he's not getting burned by Win again. And yet every turn brings them closer together.
As the case takes a wild turn and Win's entire life is upended, she must look to the people she's closest to in order to find a killer. And Henry must decide between making his case and saving the woman he loves...
I am really beginning to believe that Lexi Blake just is unable to write a bad book, I mean I don’t ever want her to obviously but I haven’t ever not liked or loved a book by her. Order of Protection is another one to be added to my liked it column. This is the beginning of the new series Courting Justice and for me it was a good start to a series that I can see being great.
Henry and Win will at times have you frustrated, Henry more so than Win in my opinion. Now I am all for an asshole hero and Henry yeah he deserves that title and a couple more. Secrets, lies and more are what you get with Order of Protection. I don’t want to give away any of the plot because I don’t want to spoil it but if you are a fan of Ms. Blake’s books you know that she has to throw in some twists and turns along the way. This one also includes some real life issues, again no spoilers, but I appreciate the way that they are handled.
Order of Protection as I stated above it a good start to this new series, and I think fans of Ms. Blake’s books will enjoy this one I know I did.
