Combust, an all new sexy and emotional standalone by K. Bromberg is NOW AVAILABLE!
From New York Times Bestselling author, K. Bromberg, comes the second standalone book in the Everyday Heroes series. Just how hot will firefighter Grady Malone turn up the heat?
Songwriter Dylan McCoy has been burned.
By her boyfriend she found in her bed . . . with someone else.
By the contract she signed that obligates her to work with him until the songs for his new album are complete.
By her agent when she asked Dylan to keep their breakup on the down-low.
When she finds herself in Sunnyville, she refuses to let her new roommate burn her too. Still . . . a rebound has never looked so good.
That’s her first thought when she sees firefighter Grady Malone.
Sexy. Charismatic. Unapologetic. He’s a man who carries his own scars—the ones on his back, the survivor’s guilt on his soul, and the fear in his heart.
When an unexpected visitor puts their roommate status to the test, will their undeniable attraction burn out, or will they both take a chance and play with fire?
We all, at times need to be saved by a hero. But sometimes heroes need saving too. When you read Combust, you will understand that statement. My grandpa was a
fireman and I remember him telling me stories of when he was one and the reason
he retired early. He had been trapped in
a fire and it scared him, luckily, he wasn’t hurt but he very well could have
been. I think that is one reason why I
felt such a strong connection with Grady from the very start.
Grady is sexy, he is sweet, but he also is scarred both
physically and mentally. My heart broke
for him because you could see how what had happened really not only took that
confidence and cockiness away that firefighters have but also made him never
want to have a relationship. When we
learn what happened I cried and I cried hard because I could feel the pain that
Grady was feeling. I loved how Dylan
soothed him that just hearing her working on a song brought him peace when in his
mind it was war. Can Grady be an ass at
times? Yes he most certainly can and trust me when he was I wanted to beat him
with his fire hose, and I mean an actual fire hose not something else although
I wouldn’t mind sliding down Grady’s pole.
Okay enough horrible yet intended puns on my end, well maybe this is me
after all.
Dylan’s self-confidence was shattered not only by her
cheating ex-boyfriend but words that where spewed by the woman he was cheating
with. Dylan doesn’t see how beautiful
she really is, but Grady sees it and wants her.
I wanted Dylan to be happy, she deserved it especially with the position
she is in by having to act like her and her ex are still together and finish
writing songs for his upcoming album. I
loved reading the lyrics she was writing and how you could see how she was
feeling writing them.
Grady and Dylan are as hot as a five-alarm fire with how hot
they are together. The chemistry between
them is there from the very start. The
banter between them is perfect and the emotions they make you feel is making me
want to read the book again right this very moment. I highly recommend Combust; this book may be my favorite from K. Bromberg yet.
