Shattered by the loss of his wife, Callum Reed is a man surrounded by rules designed to protect him. He rebuilds his life with careful discipline, but can’t deny what he feels when he meets the lovely Gabrielle Sullivan. Until the night she breaks his cardinal rule.
After three years of perfect obedience, Gaby declares she wants love and she isn’t settling for less. Love isn’t in their contract, so Cal lets her go. But Gaby has a secret reason for leaving. When Cal discovers the truth, nothing will stop him from following her.
On a secluded island paradise, Callum will do anything to prove he’s the perfect husband for his defiant love.
I think Away From Me
is only one of possibly a few of Sophie Oak books that I had not previously
read. I can’t believe that I hadn’t read
it before now. I wasn’t expecting the
amount of emotions that this one pulled from me. This is a second chance romance but it is
also a book about surviving, knowing your worth, knowing that you deserve love
and not settling for less.
My heart absolutely broke for Gabrielle aka Gaby and Callum
aka Cal. You will want to hate Cal and
for a while you will but then you see how affected he is by what he learns and
how he sets out to win Gaby back just made me fall in love with his character. What Gaby goes through, I have tears in my
eyes while typing this because it really touched me how strong she was. When I
say she is a survivor that is exactly what she is. She may be a submissive but she is stronger
than most women would be in her position.
Cal may be her Master but he hurts Gaby, not physically but emotionally
and sometimes that can be the worst pain of all. Cal will do whatever it takes to get Gaby
back, even something you wouldn’t expect or see coming, I know I didn’t.
Away From Me is emotional, it is sexy and it is one that
fans of Lexi Blake/Sophie Oak need to have this on their TBR lists. You won’t be disappointed.
