Giovanni's life has been mapped out for him since birth. Born into the mob it's all he's ever known. Dalla nascita. Per sangue. Famiglia. By birth. By blood. Family.
But when he stumbles upon Aria, everything he's embraced and accepted about his life gets thrown out the window. Without thinking, Giovanni kidnaps Aria in order to save her but is it considered saving someone when the life you're bringing them into is just as deadly? Now he's torn between having Aria to himself and protecting her from himself.
I want to state before I start my review that Bordello has some scenes that could be triggers for some readers, this is a darker romance so proceed with caution if you have triggers.
Now that that is out of the way can I say OMG Bordello completely hooked me in within pages. As I mentioned this is a darker romance but it is also a mafia romance and you know how much I love those. Giovanni and Aria’s story will wrap itself around you and not only keep you prisoner craving each new word, but it will also take you on an emotional at times dark roller coaster ride. My heart broke for Aria more than once, what she goes through would break a weaker woman. While Giovanni may have saved her, she does some saving of Giovanni as well. Both of these characters have a depth to them that once you see all the way inside you want them to be happy. The chemistry between these two is more than just sexual, it is life altering.
However, you know that saying “if you love something set it free?” Well that is so true in this story. I think I was so invested into their story that when things happen I wanted to go on a killing spree because it just wasn’t fair. Then again, I do have a bit of a violent anger management issue but then again you may feel the same way when you read Bordello.
I can’t stop thinking about this book even days after finishing it. Bordello is one that fans of darker mafia romances need to have on their TBR lists. I am curious if Giovanni’s brothers will get books because I want to read more for sure!
