About me

Hi I'm Janna and I am a book whore! I started this blog after being a part of another for years. While being a big blog may be nice I like to stay true to me having a love for books, that's why I blog. I love books and I want to share that love with my readers of this blog. I love to read, books are my escape and a huge part of my life besides my husband and two children. I am honest and sometimes sassy in my reviews but never mean. Some of my favorite authors include Kristen Ashley, Penelope Douglas, T.M. Frazier, M.N. Forgy, Rachel Van Dyken, Meghan March and Vi Keeland to only name a few!

Please note that I am the ONLY reviewer on the blog beyond a few guest reviews. It has been brought to my attention that people not associated with my blog have been requesting ARCs please if you ever question a request please email me at the blog's email.

Release Blitz! True Abandon By Jeannine Colette

True Abandon, an all new Second Chance Romance from Jeannine Colette is Available Now!
Free on Kindle Unlimited

CAN THE SINS OF THE PAST BE FORGIVEN WITH THE ACTIONS OF TODAY?
Trish Hogan's life was destroyed when she gave her trust to her high school boyfriend, Jackson, and he ripped it away, changing the course of her life.
A decade later she’s living in Manhattan -- she has a roommate, a steady boyfriend and a career. When a hurricane puts the city on lock down, Trish gets a message she never thought she’d receive: Jackson is dying and alone.

In a city of millions, she is the only person who can sit by his side.

Jackson Davis was once the golden child of a senator who went against his father’s plans and became a musician. Tatted up and broken, he wakes up in a hospital only to see Trish -- the one person he needs to atone his sins to -- standing before him. He will recover from his injuries, but not from the pain he caused in the past.

Trapped by the storm, they embark on a night of reckoning that has one running away to Hawaii and the other following in her steps. As the victim becomes the villain, the two are forced to face the past, live in the present and find a way to navigate into the future.

I am torn on my feelings on True Abandon.  On one hand, I felt the emotions that I believe Ms. Colette intended for her readers to feel but on the other hand, at times I had a hard time feeling a connection to the story.  Contradictory?  Perhaps but unfortunately that is how I felt about True Abandon.

I will not say that the story was bad, because it wasn’t, I can’t say that the story was amazing because for me it wasn’t, but what it was, was something I am glad that I read. While it may not have totally resonated deep within my soul, it is an emotional second chance romance that reminds us at times in our youth we do stupid things and those stupid things hurt the ones we love.  Jackson’s character does those things and more.  I just wish that I could have felt more of a connection to this book, if I had I think I would have been blown away.
