While being a big blog may be nice I like to stay true to me having a love for books, that's why I blog. I love books and I want to share that love with my readers of this blog. I love to read, books are my escape and a huge part of my life besides my husband and two children. I am honest and sometimes sassy in my reviews but never mean. Some of my favorite authors include Kristen Ashley, Penelope Douglas, T.M. Frazier, M.N. Forgy, Rachel Van Dyken, Meghan March and Vi Keeland to only name a few!

Please note that I am the ONLY reviewer on the blog beyond a few guest reviews. It has been brought to my attention that people not associated with my blog have been requesting ARCs please if you ever question a request please email me at the blog's email.

Throwback Thursday! Tyrant By T.M. Frazier

*This review was previously posted on My Secret Romance Book Reviews and I have permission to repost it*

I. Remember. Everything.

Only now I wish I didn't.

When the fog is sucked away from my mind like smoke through a vacuum, the truth that has been beyond my reach for months finally reveals itself.

But the relief I thought I would feel never comes, and I'm more afraid now than I was the morning I woke up handcuffed in King's bed.

Because with the truth comes dark secrets I was never meant to know.

I will put the lives of those I love most at risk if I let on that my memory has returned, or if I seek help from the heavily tattooed felon who owns me body and soul.

I don't know if I'm strong enough to resist the magnetic pull toward King that grows stronger every day.

He's already saved me in more ways than one. Now it's my turn to do whatever it takes to save him.

Even if that means marrying someone else...

All right before I start I have a couple of things that I have to say. First of all I will be swearing in my review, there is absolutely no fucking way I can describe this book without some creative swearing on my part. You have been warned. Second if you haven’t read King yet, stop, go buy that bitch and read it before starting Tyrant because you HAVE to read it first or you will be lost. Got that? I hope so because my review begins right fucking now.

Holy shit, I knew from the first time I ever read a book by T.M. Frazier that she was going to have the ability to have me on the edge of my seat, panties dripping, cussing up a mother fucking storm and needing more of whatever it is that she has gotten me addicted to at the time. I loved King, absolutely fucking loved that dirty talking bastard and even with the cliffhanger we were left with I couldn’t even be mad because I just knew that when we got the second book it would make all the angst, kindle throwing, panty changing, King cussing, Pup loving, tear inducing moments worth it. When I started Tyrant I just knew the words: fuck, son of a bitch, mother fucker, damn it and asshole would be words that I threw out multiple times, and I totally underestimated the amount of times I thought by the time I was done. Luckily my mom had my kids so they didn’t hear their mommy’s swearing creativeness during my reading.

Things you think you may have figured out, don’t plan on being right. When Pup begins to remember her past, some things that she remembers could not only be dangerous to her but to King as well. More than once I was shocked at what was taking place and more than once I cried, both sad tears and angry tears. I am not going to give anything away, nor am I going to hint at anything, but there is one scene that is pretty dark, that will make you cry and want to commit murder. Just know that when I say long live the mother fucking King that you will be saying the same if you love him even a fraction as much as I do. Pup comes into who she really is and is the perfect balance for King. Even a certain bow tied crazy friend makes his presence known in only the way Preppy could. Someone else makes an appearance; someone that fans of Ms. Frazier’s books will know exactly who it is. Bear will have his own book but know that King and Pup’s story is complete.

T.M. Frazier, oh you mind fucking bitch, I love you and your books. I can’t wait for not only Bear’s story but for every other book your mind can create. You are an author that is on my automatic buy list and that will never change. If you haven’t read any of her books yet, OMG go start getting them because you will not be disappointed I promise you that.

Blog Tour! Dirty Filthy Fix By Laurelin Paige

From New York Times bestselling author Laurelin Paige, comes a sexy novella in her Fixed Trilogy Series…DIRTY FILTHY FIX, a new novella brought to you by 1001 Dark Nights! Grab your copy of this amazing novella today!

About DIRTY FILTHY FIX:
I like sex. Kinky sex. The kinkier the better.
Every day, it’s all I think about as I serve coffee and hand out business agendas to men who have no idea I’m not the prim, proper girl they think I am.
With a day job as the secretary to one of New York’s most powerful men, Hudson Pierce, I have to keep my double life quiet. As long as I do, it’s not a problem.
Enter: Nathan Sinclair. Tall, dark and handsome doesn’t come close to describing how hot he is. And that’s with his clothes on. But after a dirty, filthy rendezvous, I accept that if we ever see each other again, he’ll walk right by my desk on his way to see my boss without recognizing me.
Only, that’s not what happens. Not the first time I see him after the party. Or the next time. Or the time after that. And as much as I try to stop it, my two worlds are crashing into each other, putting my job and my reputation at risk.
And all I can think about is Nathan Sinclair.
All I can think about is getting just one more dirty, filthy fix.
So I’ll admit that Laurelin Paige is one author I haven’t read a whole lot of.  I know she is a big name author but I haven’t fully become addicted to her books quite yet.  Dirty Filthy Fix though, well it is making me want to really give this author a chance to become one I must read.  Dirty Filthy Fix is one hot and dirty novella that will leave you needing a wardrobe change among other things.  This novella is not lacking, it was well written and quickly gained my attention within a few pages.

Nate is, well I think the best way to describe him is extremely hot and sexy.  Trish really was the perfect choice for Nate since they tended to enjoy the same things, and no I am not telling you what those things are but think naughty thoughts.  I am going to make sure that I take the time to read more of Ms. Paige’s books because I think she may have found a new fan in this book whore.

I wore satin that Saturday night, a long blue slip dress with slits up both sides. I never wore underwear to the parties. They were too much of an inconvenience, and the few times I had worn them, I’d just ended up giving them away as souvenirs. I liked nice lingerie. I preferred to keep most of it.

The shoes I wore—simple heels, easy to slip off—were also standard for an evening at the Open Door. But somehow I felt simultaneously more dressed up and more naked than I had in a long time. I left my hair down, and it fell long past my shoulders in dark, nearly black waves. It felt less like I was going to a weekly party and more like I was going on a date. A glamorous date.

It was a signal that I should not go.

But I went. Nothing could have kept me away.

I spent the beginning of the night as a voyeur, camped out on the settee watching as the Doms paraded their submissives around the room, entertaining everyone with their tricks and commands.

I had a few invitations to play from the regulars—Andrew, who’d shown up with a girl I’d never met before. Of course, Chuck Richard was there, wanting to fondle and stroke my skin. But I shooed them all away, feigning an introverted mood, when really I was just looking and waiting for one person in particular.

An hour went by. Then an hour and a half. After two hours, I kicked myself internally a bunch of times before realizing that I was in a place where people would gladly do that for me. So when Andrew suggested a game, an adult version of Spin-the-Bottle, I decided to join in.

An oddly shaped circle was created, some people choosing to sit on the floor, some on the furniture. I curled up with my knees to one side on the floor, and when I finished straightening my gown around me, I looked up to find that the man sitting on the ottoman across from me was Nathan.

And suddenly the room felt so much brighter than it had a few minutes before. Like there’d been too many plugs shoved into one outlet and finally someone had tugged one free, the power had surged, and the lights glowed.

Everyone disappeared around me and the only face I could see was his, handsome and rugged, his grin directed at me. His eyes lit up like they were the source of the glow, and they were the only things I could see.

Somehow I was sure I’d just broken one of my rules. I didn’t know which one, and I didn’t even care.

Excerpt Reveal! The One Night Stand By Elizabeth Hayley

Gabriel Torres thought his life after Major League Baseball would be simple and quiet, or at least quieter. However, as he takes over running the exclusive Players Club, he finds himself continually embroiled in scandal and drama. Surely nothing, and no one could make his life any crazier...Right?

Rachel Adler is a blast from Gabe’s past who crashed back into his life with the finesse of a freight train. But she's a welcome distraction. At least for a night.
Rachel has been working hard to become one of the top sports journalists in the country. She doesn't have time for a long-term romance or irresistibly charming baseball players. A one-night-stand with the man who she knew would hit it out of the park was all she wanted.
But when she gets a tip that Gabe could have ties to one of the biggest sports stories in history, a story that could make her career, Rachel decides that maybe she has a little time for the sexy baseball player after all. As she gets in deeper with both her story and Gabe, Rachel begins to question who she is, what she wants, and what exactly she’s willing to sacrifice for her career.
Will the potential grand-slam romance be stopped short or will Rachel and Gabe be able to go the distance?

Chapter One

Rachel hustled through the newsroom, her brown hair bouncing against her shoulders as her mind whirled with all of the different things her boss Rick Hartnett may want to talk to her about. None of them were good. She’d been a reporter with All Access Sports Magazine practically since she’d graduated college, but as she let her eyes roam around the room, she noticed the thrill wasn’t as strong as it used to be. It wasn’t that she didn’t like her job or had much of a desire to move on to a different publication. Moreso it was that she felt stagnant. Every day there was a reminder that she hadn’t reached the kind of success she’d hoped she would have after nearly a decade in the industry. Reaching the door of Rick’s office, she gave it a few raps. “You wanted to see me?” she asked after he looked up from his computer. “Yeah,” he replied, gesturing to the chair on the other side of his desk. Though All Access Sports was on the twenty-second floor of a building that was less than twenty years old, their space was anything but sleek. Stacks of old newspapers and magazines littered Rick’s floor, and Rachel had to step around them to make it to the chair. Rachel took a seat without closing the door, since Rick always preferred it stay open. She and Rick engaged in some sort of odd staring contest before he finally picked up the next edition of their print magazine and dropped it on the desk in front of her. “You want to tell me why you don’t have an article in there?” No, actually she didn’t want to tell him. “I didn’t have anything solid to contribute.” Rick steepled his hands and let his chin rest atop them. “Hmm. That’s interesting. Because when I looked into our budget analytics for last month, I see that you flew across the goddamn country to chase a story. But,” Rick slapped a finger onto the magazine, “I don’t see a story.” “The lead didn’t pan out.” “I didn’t even approve that trip. How’d you get the go ahead?” Rachel shrugged in an overly casual way that was an attempt to pretend she wasn’t about to get reamed out by her boss. And what was worse, she deserved it. “You weren’t here when the story came up so I asked Cal.” “You asked Cal, a junior editor with no actual authority to make this decision?” “Accounting thinks he has authority.” It was not the brightest thing Rachel could have said in that moment, but it was at the very least true. “But you know he doesn’t. What was the story anyway? At our last pitch meeting you said you were going to do a piece on the inflation of prices at ballparks. Pretty sure you didn’t need to go to California for that.” Rachel looked down and studied her nails. She really needed to get a manicure. Her nail beds looked disastrous. “I heard some grumblings about the club so I thought I’d check it out.” “Jesus Christ. Not this again.” Rachel let her hands drop into her lap. “Yes, this again. You know this is an ongoing investigation for me. If I can figure out the truth behind the rumors, it would make my whole career.” Sighing, Rick crossed his arms on his desk. “How long have you been looking into this club?” “I’m not exactly sure,” she hedged. “Too long is the answer. You gotta drop this thing, Rach. If there was any truth to it, you’d have found out by now.” “Not necessarily. It’s extremely exclusive. Only the best of the best get asked to join, so obviously they’re going to be tight-lipped about it. I just have to find the right angle.” “Rachel.” “And I’ve found enough details to support its existence. I just don’t have anything solid enough to base a story on.” “Rachel.” “But it’s only a matter of time. The source in San Diego didn’t pan out, but something else will. I just need to keep my ear to the ground.” “Rachel!” Rick yelled. Taking a deep breath, she focused on him, even though she knew she wasn’t going to like what he had to say. “It’s time to give it up. You’re out there chasing a unicorn when there are more pressing things we need you to cover.” “It’s not a unicorn. It’s a Triple Crown winner.” “A hypothetical Triple Crown winner. That’s not good enough to waste resources.” “I’ve spent years on this story. I can’t--” “You’ve spent years on it and have absolutely nothing to show for it. I’m sorry, but you need to drop it. We can’t allocate any more resources toward it.” “I’ll work it on my own time.” “We consider your time our resource. We pay you for it. We need your head to be in the game.” “You can’t forbid me from working on something when I have nothing else going on.” “No. But I can fire you if you don’t start providing usable material on a regular basis.” Rachel’s eyes shot to his, hers widening in surprise. He’d never threatened to fire her before. Nothing even close. Under her scrutiny, Rick’s face softened. “Look, I’m not trying to scare you. But I do have to be honest. I can’t have a reporter going rogue whenever she feels like it. We’re a team here, and you used to be one of our most integral players. But it’s like you’ve put yourself on the disabled list and refuse to do any more than take a few practice swings.” “That was...a really involved metaphor.” Rick rolled his eyes, but some of the good-natured vibes they normally had between them returned, which encouraged Rachel to be completely honest. “This story is going to be epic, Rick. And it may not happen this month, or this year, but it’s going to happen. And I’ll be damned if it happens for someone else after I’ve spent so many years on it. I refuse to lose out because I was forced to give up.” “Listen. If something comes over the wire that even so much as hints at the club, you’ll be the first one to know. But as far as using All Access time and resources to investigate it...those days are over. When you’re here, you’re to work the assignments we give you. And for Christ’s sake, next time you use company money to travel somewhere, you’d better go through the proper channels. I don’t give a shit if you’re riding a subway to Brooklyn. You clear it with me first.” Figuring this was the closest to a compromise as she was going to get, Rachel nodded. “Got it.” “Good. Now get out of here and pack.” Rachel startled. “Pack? I thought you’d just finished grounding me for the foreseeable future.” “Stop being a smartass or I won’t send you anywhere.” Rachel stood and smoothed out her black slacks. “Where am I going?” Rick reached across his desk to retrieve the magazine. “The Super Bowl.”

Elizabeth Hayley is actually "Elizabeth" and "Hayley," two friends who love reading romance novels to obsessive levels. This mutual love prompted them to put their English degrees to good use by penning their own. The product is Pieces of Perfect, their debut novel. They learned a ton about one another through the process, like how they clearly share a brain and have a persistent need to text each other constantly (much to their husbands' chagrin). They live with their husbands and kids in a Philadelphia suburb. Thankfully, their children are still too young to read. Elizabeth Hayley's writing motto is best captured by the words of Patrick Dennis: "I always start with a clean piece of paper and a dirty mind." FACEBOOK | AMAZON AUTHOR PAGE | GOODREADS | BOOKBUB

Author Bio

Crazy woman from a remote location in Alaska (where the need for a creative mind is a necessity!), I have been writing since ... forever? Yeah, that sounds about right. I have been told that I remind people of Lucille Ball - I also see shades of Jennifer Saunders, and Denis Leary. So basically, I laugh a lot, I'm clumsy a lot, and I say the F-word A LOT.

I like dogs more than I like most people, and I don't trust anyone who doesn't drink. No, I do not live in an igloo, and no, the sun does not set for six months out of the year, there's your Alaska lesson for the day. I have mermaid hair - both a curse and a blessing - and most of the time I talk so fast, even I can't understand me.

Yeah. I think that about sums me up.

Release Blitz! The Bachelor Contract By Rachel Van Dyken

A second-chance romance from the #1 New York Times bestseller of The Bet, Matchmaker and Elite series!

She's everywhere.

Ex-wife.

Love of his life.

The last person in the world he wanted to see...ever.

And now that he's working beside her every day, he can't escape her. Her scent, glimpses of her smile, even the tension in the air that makes his body hum with the kind of need he'd only experienced with one person-all of it is driving him over the edge.

Brant Wellington was certain of three things:

Alcohol wasn't going to solve this.

He really was losing his F-ing mind.

And his gorgeous ex-wife was going to be the death of him.

I need to preface this review by saying that I am a huge Rachel Van Dyken fan, and I have always loved all of her books and plan on continue to read more from her in the future.

The Bachelor Contract is the third book in this series and while by the end of the book I liked it I didn’t love it like I had the previous two books.  This one deals with a whole range of issues, from miscommunications, anger, resentment, heartbreak, loss, you name it and it is probably was a part of this book.  Now I need to make it clear this wasn’t a bad book by any means, I think I had a hard time because all of the characters acted very immature for the majority of the book and their actions took away from what could have been the most epic second chance romance of the year.  Now yes, by the end of the book the characters did redeem themselves in my eyes, especially Brant, Nikki and Cole.  I understood more how both Brant and Nikki hurt each other unintentionally with their actions due to some miscommunications as well as the other pains they were suffering through that just added to it all. I am also curious to see if we will be getting a book about Cole, especially when umm certain things are revealed.

Now while this may not have been my favorite book of the series it was still an overall good read and one that I think most people will enjoy.

NOTE: The print and ebook editions have different covers!

Barnes & Noble: http://bit.ly/2zsqzIL

It was Brant.

Always Brant.

Maybe that was because they’d never had any real closure. Just fighting, yelling, and then silence.

God, she’d hated the silence so much more than the yelling.

The silence crackled with tension—it was always filled with more meaning than when words were actually spoken.

It wasn’t the yelling that had killed their relationship.

It was the silence that had followed. When he had every opportunity to fix it—and didn’t.

Why was it so hard to move on? Probably because she hadn’t tried.

Instead, she’d worked. Tried to stay positive. And hoped.

Damn hope. Stupid hope.

“He’s not coming back for me,” she whispered, knowing that if she finally admitted he wasn’t coming, she would have to take her part of the blame in why. Because it wasn’t just on him to come running back. A small part of her knew that it was her job to meet him halfway. Instead, she’d ignored the need in his eyes, the desperate plea in his voice, and allowed grief to swallow her whole. Because at the time she’d needed someone to blame, and it was easier blaming him than herself.
