While being a big blog may be nice I like to stay true to me having a love for books, that's why I blog. I love books and I want to share that love with my readers of this blog. I love to read, books are my escape and a huge part of my life besides my husband and two children. I am honest and sometimes sassy in my reviews but never mean. Some of my favorite authors include Kristen Ashley, Penelope Douglas, T.M. Frazier, M.N. Forgy, Rachel Van Dyken, Meghan March and Vi Keeland to only name a few!

Please note that I am the ONLY reviewer on the blog beyond a few guest reviews. It has been brought to my attention that people not associated with my blog have been requesting ARCs please if you ever question a request please email me at the blog's email.

Maverick, an all-new contemporary STANDALONE by New York Times Bestselling author Karina Halle is LIVE!!!

Maverick is a complete standalone novel and the second book about the rough and rugged Nelson brothers. Get ready for one wild alpha mountain man - Canada's never felt so hot!

Forget playing it safe.
John “Maverick” Nelson likes to live his life on the edge – literally. A crucial member of the search and rescue team in the mountainous British Columbian town of North Ridge, Maverick’s brash and bold attitude means he’s the first one to ascend into danger, no matter the risk.
When it comes to women, though, Maverick errs on the side of caution. For all his cocky charm, rugged good looks and sexual swagger, he remains as unreachable as the surrounding peaks. Hot, wild sex? He’ll tell you there’s no better way to spend a cold, wintry night. Relationships? He’d rather freeze.
That is until he lays his eyes on American Riley Clarke. Trading in the crippling expenses of Aspen for BC, Riley is North Ridge’s newest member of their search and rescue team and the only woman on the job, which means spending a lot of time with Mav in adrenaline-pumping situations.
With the chemistry between them hot enough to melt snow, keeping their hands off each other is detriment to the success of their team. Besides, Maverick’s her boss and she didn’t work her ass off in Colorado just to throw it all away for some mind-blowing sex.
But when the worst winter in years sweeps in, Riley and Maverick will have to battle the elements along with their attraction for each other. And if either of them slip up, both of them will be in for a deep freeze.

Guilt.  It is a destructive, painful emotion.  It can be as destructive as a category 5 hurricane, a tornado ripping through like it was nothing, or an avalanche with it’s unpredictable nature, the way it is captivating yet deadly all at the same time.  Guilt can make you stronger, it can make you weak if you allow it, it can teach you how to move on from mistakes or regrets in your past, it can also make you do stupid hurtful things to others.  I’m sure you are wondering where I am going with that whole guilt thing but it plays a role in Maverick, one that I knew about and one that I felt like I was being hit with an avalanche with.  While Maverick is at times erotic, it also is at times heartbreaking and emotional and that is why I was unable to put it down once I started reading it.

Mav and Riley, the sexual tension between the both of them from the very start was something out of the world explosive.  The added factor that their relationship is against the rules only adds to the fuel to the fire.  Mav is Riley’s boss, and Riley doesn’t make it easy on the town’s manwhore either.  I liked the buildup that they understood what the restraints of the job meant, what the consequences of being together could mean, that the rewards outweighed the risk.  When something happens, something that made my heart clench in my chest I wasn’t sure how things would turn out.  I wanted to kick Mav in the balls more than once but I still loved his character.  Riley, my heart broke for her more than once and wished I could take some of her pain away from her.

Maverick by Karina Halle is a book that I really enjoyed and one that I can easily say needs to be on TBR lists right this very moment!
