Falling for the enemy has never been so deadly. When King Werewolf shows up in veterinarian Vee Scarpa’s ER, she’s livid. Her father, North American head honcho vampire, has threatened a chilling or else if she “accidentally” helped a wolf again, especially since they’re at war. But she’s tempted by the sexy wolf. And his deadly blood calls to her in a way that should set off warning bells… A promise to his brother in arms obliges Lexan Dimitrov to rescue the aristocrat vampire before her family discovers her secret—a secret Vee herself isn’t even aware of. What he didn’t expect was to find her sexy-as-hell. He’s not into vamps, yet the inescapable heat building between them is a delicious temptation guaranteed to end in total disaster. “Unique and fresh…Forward’s world of wolves and vamps is captivating, sexy, and absolutely addictive.” —New York Times bestselling author Kristin Miller
I will be completely honest; I sat The Way You Bite down with no intentions of picking it back up again. It was dragging and I hated the heroine something fierce. But something said give it a little bit longer, maybe it will start being one you enjoy, and luckily for me that second shot paid off. I liked The Way You Bite but I am far from loving it.
I am a huge paranormal fan and the premise of this is what drew me in, the old vampire and werewolf discord that reminds me of one of my favorite movies, Underworld. I wish that Velvet, the heroine would have not been so prejudice and condescending to Lexan the king of the werewolves especially after a secret about her own bloodline is revealed. Lexan is what had me continuing to read this book for sure. I was intrigued about his character and his past as well as how he planned on handling the situation at hand.
I am glad that I did decide to finish this one even if there were things I didn’t like, it overall was a good read and if Ms. Forward writes books about some of the other characters we met in this one I would read them.
