Mia
Alex Lawson might as well be the hottest book boyfriend imaginable. A fun, romantic, possessive, panty-melting man. And the best part?
He’s real.
For a girl like me—a slightly awkward book addict—Alex is a dream come true, straight off the pages of my favorite romance novels. But our story is turning into a whirlwind romance—the kind that only exists in books.
And I wonder if we’re heading toward our own happily ever after, or if he’s too good to be true.
Alex
Here’s the thing. I’m not a bad guy. Lying to Mia wasn’t part of the plan.
Finding success as a romance author using a female pen name wasn’t part of the plan either. But sometimes life takes unexpected turns.
Like realizing the woman you’re falling for is your alter-ego’s online best friend.
But if she finds out the truth, I could lose everything.
Book Boyfriend was another one of those books that had the potential of being an amazing fun read but just fell a bit short in the long run. Book Boyfriend almost could be a real life story, then again maybe it is one, we may never know. It was a cute read that I overall did enjoy but just lacked something. Maybe it was that Mia never really stood up for herself with her sister or others, maybe it was the fact that Alex seemed ashamed of writing romances under a female pen name, but something kept me from loving it 100%. Now I could understand Alex’s reasoning about not wanting to tell Mia immediately what was going on because I understood his reasoning but at the same time I wanted to yell you know her you need to trust her. Now for Mia’s reasoning behind staying anonymous I didn’t buy into it. Yes that has happened in real blogger life to a blogger but I am sorry be proud of what you read and if you blog your blog, I just didn’t believe that was the only reason on why she didn’t want people to know about her blog, but that’s just me. I wanted Mia to just stop being so meek and at times weak and just finally fight back.
I loved the idea behind the premise of the book and like I mentioned before I did overall enjoyed Book Boyfriend I just wanted more from it. This is the first book I have read from this author but it won’t be the last I think she has the potential of being one that will be on my must read lists very soon.
