About me

Hi I'm Janna and I am a book whore! I started this blog after being a part of another for years. While being a big blog may be nice I like to stay true to me having a love for books, that's why I blog. I love books and I want to share that love with my readers of this blog. I love to read, books are my escape and a huge part of my life besides my husband and two children. I am honest and sometimes sassy in my reviews but never mean. Some of my favorite authors include Kristen Ashley, Penelope Douglas, T.M. Frazier, M.N. Forgy, Rachel Van Dyken, Meghan March and Vi Keeland to only name a few!

Please note that I am the ONLY reviewer on the blog beyond a few guest reviews. It has been brought to my attention that people not associated with my blog have been requesting ARCs please if you ever question a request please email me at the blog's email.

ARC Review! Paper Fools By Staci Hart

Hearts & ArrowsAphrodite knows love — just don’t ask her to figure out her own mess. Rather than deal with her sticky love life, she toys with the hearts of unwitting humans. It’s a little game she plays, and the stakes are high. Lucky for her, she’s just found the perfect match. Lex is everything Dean needs, but he can’t have her. It doesn’t matter that her eyes speak to a long forgotten part of him, or that her art and poetry touch his shredded heart. She’s off limits — crossing that line would implode his band and everything he’s ever cared about. There’s only one option: stay away from her, no matter the cost. Even if the price is his heart. Dean is everything Lex wants, but she can’t take the risk. The second she meets him, she knows her heart is in danger. She’s convinced it’s only attraction that has her hung up on the dark, quiet lead singer, but with every day that passes, she knows it’s more. It’s just that she can’t put her heart on the line. She won’t — love has never been worth the sacrifice. If only they knew they were just pawns in a much bigger game. And in the game of love, Aphrodite never loses. *Formerly titled Deer in Headlights, Paper Fools has been rewritten and reedited for your enjoyment.*

I believe that Paper Fools is the second book that I have read by Staci Hart and I really enjoyed it.  I secretly love Greek mythology so the blurb is what originally caught my attention immediately.  What kept it though was the book itself.  I mean what is a little competition between some bored Greek gods?  What it is funny, sexy and a whole bunch more!  Paper Fools was unique and I think that is important to point out because there are so many of the stories just different versions out there that the change, for me at least was a welcome one.

Dean and Lex are characters that I just couldn’t help but love and enjoy.  Dean was Apollo’s “human” of choice and Lex is Aphrodite’s.  Which god do you root for?  Apollo who doesn’t want the relationship to work or Aphrodite who does?   I am not going to tell you wins or loses because you need to read the book to find out.  Prepare yourself to laugh, to go back and forth about who you think will win, but to also just enjoy the story you are reading.  Apollo, Aphrodite, Dean, Lex and all the other characters will have you wanting more.

I really enjoyed Paper Fools and hope that you all will give it a chance, that way you can love it to.

About Staci Hart:
Staci has been a lot of things up to this point in her life: a graphic designer, an entrepreneur, a seamstress, a clothing and handbag designer, a waitress. Can't forget that. She's also been a mom, with three little girls who are sure to grow up to break a number of hearts. She's been a wife, even though she's certainly not the cleanest, or the best cook. She's also super, duper fun at a party, especially if she's been drinking whiskey. Her favorite word starts with f and ends with k.   From roots in Houston, to a seven year stint in Southern California, Staci and her family ended up settling somewhere in between and equally north, in Denver. They are new enough that snow is still magical. When she's not writing, she's sleeping, cleaning, or designing graphics.
