About me

Hi I'm Janna and I am a book whore! I started this blog after being a part of another for years. While being a big blog may be nice I like to stay true to me having a love for books, that's why I blog. I love books and I want to share that love with my readers of this blog. I love to read, books are my escape and a huge part of my life besides my husband and two children. I am honest and sometimes sassy in my reviews but never mean. Some of my favorite authors include Kristen Ashley, Penelope Douglas, T.M. Frazier, M.N. Forgy, Rachel Van Dyken, Meghan March and Vi Keeland to only name a few!

Please note that I am the ONLY reviewer on the blog beyond a few guest reviews. It has been brought to my attention that people not associated with my blog have been requesting ARCs please if you ever question a request please email me at the blog's email.

Blog Tour! Hooked By Christina Phillips

I like my sex dirty and disposable. I'm not into commitment or chicks who want more than one night. My brothers and club come first, second and last. Until she walks into my life. Classy, rich and so out of my league it's crazy. A week together should get her out of my system, but this good girl is so bad when we're all alone and I can't get enough of her. I don't do forever, but she's hooked me so bad I don't ever want to let her go. Except there's no way a princess can live in my world and I sure as hell won't live in hers...

Hooked is the first book in the Viking MC series and it was a good start, not great but good. It was a fairly quick and enjoyable read, one that began to set the scene for the rest of the series. There were some plot holes left unresolved and while I think that Zach and Grace were likable characters I wish that there would have been more development both individually and as a couple. I am a MC romance fan, I love the structure that an MC has and that edge of the outlaws or just plain old bad boys but Hooked was fairly tame.

It did have some hot moments, don’t get me wrong but I wish it would have just been more all around, and by more I mean that I wish there was more depth to the plot. I am curious to see how the author plans on this series playing out. Hooked was a good start and the series has the potential of being one that I believe that readers will enjoy as long as it is done right.

The shower’s great, though—triple-size with glass doors and low-level tiled seating along one side. Whoever designed this bathroom sure must like their showers. I find a towel in the cupboard under the sink, turn on the faucets, and peel off my clothes. I don’t think the dress is salvageable, but considering the reason why it’s ruined I’ve no complaints. I’m still smiling as I step under the water. The glass is steamed up and I’m half rinsed off when I see a dark shadow leaning against the door to the bedroom. My heart slams against my ribs, even though I know it’s Zach, and I rub a circle clear on the glass. He toasts me with a bottle of whiskey before taking a long swallow. He’s naked except for a pair of boxer briefs, and even through the steam I can see the tattoos on his thighs and pecs. How long was he standing there watching me? I’m kind of shocked that I don’t care he was perving on me, but if I’d known I would’ve made some sexy moves, like in the movies, instead of just wanting to wash away the lingering stench of that pool table. Before I can finish off and join him, he places the whiskey beside the sink and steps out of his briefs. My peephole instantly steams up, obscuring the view, but it doesn’t matter, since he opens the door and enters the shower.
