About me

Hi I'm Janna and I am a book whore! I started this blog after being a part of another for years. While being a big blog may be nice I like to stay true to me having a love for books, that's why I blog. I love books and I want to share that love with my readers of this blog. I love to read, books are my escape and a huge part of my life besides my husband and two children. I am honest and sometimes sassy in my reviews but never mean. Some of my favorite authors include Kristen Ashley, Penelope Douglas, T.M. Frazier, M.N. Forgy, Rachel Van Dyken, Meghan March and Vi Keeland to only name a few!

Please note that I am the ONLY reviewer on the blog beyond a few guest reviews. It has been brought to my attention that people not associated with my blog have been requesting ARCs please if you ever question a request please email me at the blog's email.

Review Tour! On Broken Wings by Chanel Cleeton

The author of Into the Blue and Fly with Me returns with the newest, hot and high-flying Wild Aces romance...

A year after losing her husband, Joker, the squadron commander of the Wild Aces, Dani Peterson gets an offer from his best friend, Alex “Easy” Rogers, to help fix up her house. Dani accepts, and their friendship grows—along with an undeniable attraction.

Racked by guilt for loving his best friend’s widow, Easy’s caught between what he wants and can’t have. Until one night everything changes, and the woman who’s always held his heart ends up in his arms. Yet as Easy leaves for his next deployment, he and Dani are torn between their feelings and their loyalty to Joker’s memory.

But when Dani discovers something that sends them both into a spin, the conflicted lovers must overcome the past to navigate a future together…

Easy and Dani.

After 2 books of watching him pine for her, respectfully, from a distance. Of watching him support her, be there for her even when it broke his heart, and ours, after shedding a few tears for both of them, after re-reading scenes where you couldn't concentrate because you were crying too hard, we are finally here.

Easy and Dani.

And, it was worth the wait. Chanel Cleeton did an amazing thing building Easy and Dani into the first 2 books in the series. Cleeton made them people, and made you like them, way before it came time for their story.

Their story was so full of high and low moments, it was a complete roller coaster. From Easy's joy and anguish over the relationship; Dani's emotions, and dealing with the somewhat heavy circumstances around her being available to date Easy in the first place.

This is the 3rd in the Wild Aces series, and there are spoilers. Big ones. I recommend reading the others in the series before this one. Not that this isn't a standalone. It is. You can read it without the other 2, but it means so much more if you read it after getting to know everyone in their group, and being able to be there for some of the situations that shape their lives.

Chanel Cleeton is a favorite of mine because of her amazing ability to tell stories about people. Real people. I feel like I could have a conversation with any of the characters in her books, at any time, and feel like we were picking up a friendship. This talent with writing makes the characters in her stories come to life in a way that isn't common.

Writing about the actual book without giving away spoilers is not easy, so I am hoping the impression that you take away from this review is that the book is worth your time, that you won't want to put it down, and that the characters will live on as people long after you finish the book.

I would give this one 10 stars if I could. I highly recommend this book...and expect to see it on my "Top of 2017" at this time next year.

After years spent studying international politics in London and a stint in law school, Chanel Cleeton found her passion crafting smart and sexy contemporary romances and thrillers. An avid reader and hopeless romantic, she's happiest curled up with a book, her three dogs lounging beside her. Chanel is a lover of big sunglasses, irresistible handbags, food covered in sprinkles, and pint-sized pups with larger-than-life personalities.

She is published by Harlequin and Penguin and is the author of the International School, Capital Confessions, Assassins, and Wild Aces series.
