Cannon and Paige were a different story than I was expecting. It starts out light, and flirty but through events that happen, the relationship becomes a lot deeper, much to the surprise of both of them. And, I loved how the author handled this. I loved how authentic it felt...they were drawn to one another emotionally as well as physically, even though they were not expecting this as the outcome.
I liked and related to Paige. I liked that she was honest, that she was straightforward, and I liked the she was willing to ask for what she wanted. This made her compelling as it made her his equal, especially as he moved forward with his career. I liked that Cannon was in his final parts of medical school, this made the age gap seem irrelevant. 24 is young. A 24 year old doctor who has always been older than his years and is dedicated is not so young. And it definitely helped close the gap of the 4 year age difference with him and Paige.
The story was paced well, and the characters were authentic. The only issue I have is the portrayal of him, and the internal dialog at the beginning, turned me off a little. Not enough to stop reading or ruin the book for me...but I felt like I was introduced to Cannon twice, once in the first chapter and again a couple chapters later.
I definitely recommend this book and am looking forward to the next one in the series.
Cannon, my oh my Cannon well he could play Dr. with me any days of the week. He swears he is cursed when it comes to sex, not that he can't get any, it's that every woman falls in love with him after and is a psycho. Well that very well may be true but what about his roommate Paige?
Paige can't believe that the geeky younger brother of her best friend is the hot as sin man who is now her roommate. There is so much sexual chemistry between them that at times it is explosive. But can she be the one who doesn't fall in love with Cannon after if they have sex? Well you will have to read it to find out.
I had a real problem with Cannon's sister and Paige's best friend. She brought the book down in my opinion and I just did NOT like her presence at all, not even once.
The Room Mate was funny, sexy, had some drama and a bit of angst but overall it was a really good read and one that I do recommend to be added to your TBR lists for sure.
