About me

Hi I'm Janna and I am a book whore! I started this blog after being a part of another for years. While being a big blog may be nice I like to stay true to me having a love for books, that's why I blog. I love books and I want to share that love with my readers of this blog. I love to read, books are my escape and a huge part of my life besides my husband and two children. I am honest and sometimes sassy in my reviews but never mean. Some of my favorite authors include Kristen Ashley, Penelope Douglas, T.M. Frazier, M.N. Forgy, Rachel Van Dyken, Meghan March and Vi Keeland to only name a few!

Please note that I am the ONLY reviewer on the blog beyond a few guest reviews. It has been brought to my attention that people not associated with my blog have been requesting ARCs please if you ever question a request please email me at the blog's email.

Blog Tour! Hooked By Brenda Rothert

From the author of the On the Line and Fire on Ice hockey romance series comes a sultry novel featuring a brooding NHL player who’s hell on skates—and the no-nonsense woman who forces him to clean up his act.

Miranda: Even though I’m broke, putting myself through college, and working two jobs, I’m trying to make the best of it. Meanwhile, Jake Birch, hockey’s hottest bad boy, lives in a luxury hotel in downtown Chicago—and still complains about every little thing in his penthouse. But after I tell him off, instead of getting me fired, Jake requests me as his personal housekeeper. Then he starts flirting with me. Only I’m not flirting back . . . at least, I’m trying not to. Did I mention that he’s hockey’s hottest bad boy?

Jake: I’ve met the best woman at the worst possible time. Miranda is the fire to my ice—a sexy, charmingly candid spark who breaks down my walls and reminds me what it’s like to feel again. But I’m being forced to date my team owner’s daughter to keep my job, so I can’t be caught with Miranda. Still, we’re getting closer—until Miranda finds out about my “girlfriend.” And that’s not the only secret I’ve been keeping. But Miranda’s the one I want . . . even if she doesn’t believe me.

Hooked had me hooked from the very beginning.  And yes pun intended.  I love hockey.  I love hockey romance books.  I love asshole heroes and sassy females.  So I guess I should just come out and say it.  I loved Hooked.  I loved all of Jake’s pregame rituals, I loved how he was an asshole, I loved how he wasn’t apologetic about it either.  I also loved how Jake gets knocked on his ass, figuratively not physically, by Miranda.  She was perfect for him.  She didn’t take his shit and she did spread her legs like a puck bunny would.  She was smart, she was hard working, she was sarcastic and she was a strong female.

Are you catching a theme here?  I LOVED Hooked!  I loved the premise, I loved the drama, I loved the sex, I mean I loved the sex scenes, I loved the emotions and I loved how Ms. Rothert built up their relationship.  I swear I don’t think I have ever typed loved so much in one review ever.  But seriously though, Hooked was a well-paced romance that has you appreciating that build up, that bond forming, and the relationship that is formed is one that is worth the wait.  I hope that we will get books for the other guys on the team because I really want more.    This is one I highly recommend that you add to your TBR lists!
