About me

Hi I'm Janna and I am a book whore! I started this blog after being a part of another for years. While being a big blog may be nice I like to stay true to me having a love for books, that's why I blog. I love books and I want to share that love with my readers of this blog. I love to read, books are my escape and a huge part of my life besides my husband and two children. I am honest and sometimes sassy in my reviews but never mean. Some of my favorite authors include Kristen Ashley, Penelope Douglas, T.M. Frazier, M.N. Forgy, Rachel Van Dyken, Meghan March and Vi Keeland to only name a few!

From USA Today bestselling author Terri E. Laine comes an all new STANDALONE second chance romance…

14484682_344577805886468_8074049189486940143_nOne night … one kiss … one touch … will change everything.

Chance Abbot is cocky.

Sexy.

Gorgeous.

A player in every sense of the word.

He broke my heart once, and I swore he’d never get a second chance.

But when he smiles at me, flashing those irresistible dimples or looks at me like I’m the best thing he’s ever seen, I forget I shouldn’t fall for his charms again.

Brie Holloway is beautiful.

Innocent.

Unforgettable.

She’s everything I’ve ever wanted and everything I don’t deserve.

But that won’t keep me from trying to win her back.

So when she starts dating her TA, I promise to keep her secret on one condition: for every time she goes out with him, she has to go out with me. I’m prepared to prove I’m right for her, one date at a time.

He’s lighting a fire in my heart and breaking down my walls, and proving he’s worthy of a second chance.

She’s everything that’s good in my world, and if she wants me to chase her I will because she’s got me catching fireflies…

Catching Fireflies was my first book by Terri E. Laine and is the second in a series but can absolutely be read as a standalone. I enjoyed it enough to want to go back and purchase the first book.

This book tells us the story of Brie and Chance, college students who meet at a party their freshman year. There is a time jump in the story (from freshman year to junior year) but it works in this story. College settings can be hard to portray accurately but the author did a good job of it here.

I loved Chance. I loved how he pursued Brie, knowing he was a fool to let her go once and not willing to make the same mistake again. He was sweet, proud, and a complex. I was cheering for him to win Brie right from the start.

I liked Brie. I didn't immediately love her the way I immediately loved Chance, but I understood her. I respected her strong sense of self; something not usually found in a heroine that young.

There were some moments in the book that I absolutely saw coming and others I didn't expect at all.

There was some stereotypical behavior on the part of one of the minor characters in the story, but I loved that Brie and Chance didn't give in to stereotypical behavior of their own. lol I would have at Brie's age. I would read this author again and look forward to the next book in the series.
