One story. Two couples.
I fell in love with a man who didn’t exist.
What started out as romance ended in hell.
His words turned to razor blades.
His kisses converted to fists.
His embrace became my cage.
His body transformed into a weapon, stealing parts of me until ultimately….
I hated him.
My sole job in life became to protect our daughter.
I wasn’t sure I’d ever escape the prison he’d skillfully crafted from my fears.
Until the day our savior arrived.
This is the story of how I escaped the man who thought he owned me.
The transfer of my life and my family.
When I started Transfer I still was processing Retrieval and wasn’t sure if my emotions, my heart or my family could stand me starting this one so soon after (they know mommy tends to get a little crazy about her books at times, okay a lot crazy but trust me you will understand if you have read the first one). I also wasn’t sure if Ms. Martinez would be able to top Retrieval, but I was wrong, she not only topped it for me she blew it away with Transfer. I don’t want to spoil anything for anyone so this review may seem a tad bit vague but that is so you can experience the emotions, the suspense the drama, just everything that Transfer is for yourself. Plus I don’t know if I could do this book justice by trying to find all the right words to express the emotions it brought out in me, or how my heart felt like it was going to stop beating more than once and that my stomach was in knots. This duet is one that I highly recommend to all of my readers because I really do think it will stay with you and steal a piece of your heart when you are finished!
