Or so you would think.
I’ve never thought of myself as anything different.
Until I met him.
He doesn’t think I’m normal.
He thinks I’m special.
Special enough to be in his life.
Special enough to enter his world.
Special enough for his bed.
Rafael Lencioni. Dangerous. Beautiful. Terrifying.
My story is the one that’s never told.
I’m not the daughter.
I’m not the wife.
I’m not a sister or a mother.
I'm not his enemy and I'm not his friend.
I’m not who you think I am.
So for me to fit into their world, I have to do something I never wanted in my life.
Something I would have frowned upon until I met him.
I have to change who I am.
I have to shut down my heart.
I have to accept my place.
My body belongs to him.
My heart isn’t permitted to.
Those are his rules.
But rules were made to be broken…right?
I have been a fan of Bella Jewel since the very first book I ever read, I have reviewed them all and there hasn’t been a single book that I have hated. Amore is something totally different than she has written and I absolutely couldn’t put it down. Yes there is a cliffhanger but Ms. Jewel has stated it won’t be long before we get the rest of Juliettta and Rafael and I seriously need to know what happens!
Julietta and Rafael have a connection that is so much more powerful than just sexual chemistry, but because of the rules Rafael puts in place if Julietta expresses them he will end things with her. But what happens when the secrets Rafael is keeping from her are discovered, secrets he kept because of his own feelings for her, will she stay or end things? Well you have to find out but trust me what you think you know, you may not.
Amore has plot twists, angst, danger, sex, and will keep you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end. As I previously stated this is different than what Ms. Jewel has written in the past and I loved it, I hope that after we get the next part of Amore, she will continue to either build off of this story or push her boundaries in other ways. I know I will read whatever she writes because I have yet to be disappointed.
Amore tells the story of Julietta and Rafael, a mafia boss and his mistress. But nothing about this book is cut and dried. Bella gives us a look into the life of a mafia mistress, who she is, what she’s thinking and feeling-certainly a perspective I’ve never really considered.
I fell for Rafael right along with Julietta. A strong, powerful man and skilled lover-I mean who wouldn’t fall in love with that? I loved that Julietta gave back as good as she got-she wasn’t afraid to let her opinion be heard, even though it wasn’t what Rafael always wanted to hear. The book showed the difficult choices facing these two and you can’t help but root for them. The supporting characters in this book were good as well-just the right amount of support without overwhelming the main characters.
I usually hate cliffhangers, I like when my book ends and I can tie it all in a bow and revisit it in my head, but I actually liked this cliffhanger ending. It means I have more to look forward to and hopefully Ms. Jewel doesn’t keep me waiting long!
