About me

Hi I'm Janna and I am a book whore! I started this blog after being a part of another for years. While being a big blog may be nice I like to stay true to me having a love for books, that's why I blog. I love books and I want to share that love with my readers of this blog. I love to read, books are my escape and a huge part of my life besides my husband and two children. I am honest and sometimes sassy in my reviews but never mean. Some of my favorite authors include Kristen Ashley, Penelope Douglas, T.M. Frazier, M.N. Forgy, Rachel Van Dyken, Meghan March and Vi Keeland to only name a few!

Please note that I am the ONLY reviewer on the blog beyond a few guest reviews. It has been brought to my attention that people not associated with my blog have been requesting ARCs please if you ever question a request please email me at the blog's email.

Blog Tour! Sweet Dreams By Nina Lane

He may own a candy company, but this wealthy bachelor is no Willy Wonka.
Sugar Rush Candy Company CEO Luke Stone is a devoted businessman who doesn't do relationships. He does short-term affairs with clearly defined rules. But when a sexy bohemian angel propositions him in a bar, Luke is tempted to want more.
Polly Lockhart is horrified when she wakes the morning after her twenty-third birthday to realize she made a fool of herself with a sinfully delicious man. She tells herself she doesn't have time for romance anyway, as she's fighting to keep her mother's beloved bakery afloat and finish her culinary studies. That all changes when her class tours the famed Sugar Rush headquarters, and Polly collides with her dream man again. As she succumbs to their hot attraction, Polly soon realizes her bakery isn't the only thing that needs saving. Luke, driven and unyielding, will burn out unless someone convinces him to taste the sweetness of life. But can Polly remember this sugar rush is only temporary?

Polly was fun and engaging. You felt for her and her determination to keep her mother's bakery going, and the challenges and personal sacrifices that entailed.

Luke was also engaging, you could understand his drive to succeed, the reasons he wanted to make sure the company he runs is successful.

Together, they had chemistry and things that each of them brought to the other, that they were able to show the other, and the other was able to change, to see things differently, and to appreciate the new things the other brought. This was a lot of fun. And I enjoyed the evolutionof the story here, as each person was able to not only exist in the relationship, but outside of it.

Polly and Luke were engaging overall, although I am not sure I completely believed the ending. From Polly's perspective, the way things ended up, I think worked...but I am not sure Luke would have been ok with the resolution. Although, as I am writing this, I am arguing with maybe he would have been. I guess, for me, the issue is I was not convinced either way.

The writing was strong overall, the dialog was good. The pacing was I mentioned the only issue I had with the book was that I did not 100% buy into the ending...but I do recommend it.
