With a daddy who can buy whatever she wants. These drivers got #swag…
Racing is in her DNA.
Right alongside money and power.
When you’re the daughter of one of the most powerful men in the country,
you have to work harder for success.
Joey Gamble’s a girl on a male-dominated track.
But she doesn’t want anything… except to EARN her reputation. When you’re nipping at the taillights of the best driver in the new NRR,you have to fight and claw for each and every success.
Racing is his passion.
Trouble follows him everywhere. Some even say he invites it.
It’s never been easy for Lorhaven.
That’s why he doesn’t play by the rules.
He’s a man with a serious chip on his shoulder against the pro racing circuit.
We at GearShark want to know what’s up with that.
We’ve also been hearing rumblings…of a pro who wants to go indie.
We’ve invited racing royalty and the driver from the wrong side of the tracks to sit down and talk to us about a possible crossover.
We expected sparks to fly when Joey and Lorhaven crossed paths.
Will those sparks ignite into a full-on inferno?
To say that #Swag
has well swag would be an understatement. Like her previous books, #Swag deals with
real life issues that we all face but the way Ms. Hebert portrays them in her
stories I think something makes them more meaningful because they could be
happening to you or me. I cried with
this one, not full out tears but more than once there were tears falling down
my face, I have been where Joey was, not to that extreme but I know that
feeling that comes along with what she deals with.
Going into #Swag I
was unsure about Lorhaven. Not because of his attitude towards Drew and
Trent in the first two books, but because with the guys in this series as well
as the #Hashtag series, you know that
the guys deep down were amazing guys and
for Lorhaven we didn’t see that caring side except towards his brother prior to
starting #Swag. I didn’t know if he would hit the same
standard I had set for the other guys and I shouldn’t have worried. He may not be as polish as the other guys,
but he WILL win you over, that I guarantee.
I loved the way he was not only with his brother but Joey as well, his
opinion quickly changed about Joey. I love how they use each other’s real
names, but even though I am sure if you have read other reviews you know their
names by now but I won’t give them away because that is something you need to
learn on your own, and let’s just say that you will stop picturing them as
Lorhaven and Joey but as, well I can’t say since that you end up giving it
away.
Joey will surprise you as well, as I hinted in the beginning
of this review she is going through something, something that no one should
ever have to go through just because they were born female or male. AS hard as she tried to ignore it, it was
slowly breaking her down. She found
strength with Lorhaven, she found protection, and she found out what it is like
to be loved by someone who doesn’t easily giveaway their love.
I must also admit that I was extremely happy that #Swag really focused on Joey and
Lorhaven’s story, while I love seeing everyone else I think for this book the
main focus needed to be on them. Don’t get
me wrong I loved that Drew and Trent made appearances but Joey had a story to
tell and Lorhaven helped be her storyteller. #Swag is sexy, funny, emotional and has me wishing I could afford
my very own Lotus, (what this book whore has expensive tastes) and I wouldn’t
mind having a Lorhaven of my own to show me how to shift the gears if you get
my drift. I am really, really, really looking forward to
the next book, I think Bieber, sorry Arrow’s story may be one that is the most
emotional of all.
