About me

Hi I'm Janna and I am a book whore! I started this blog after being a part of another for years. While being a big blog may be nice I like to stay true to me having a love for books, that's why I blog. I love books and I want to share that love with my readers of this blog. I love to read, books are my escape and a huge part of my life besides my husband and two children. I am honest and sometimes sassy in my reviews but never mean. Some of my favorite authors include Kristen Ashley, Penelope Douglas, T.M. Frazier, M.N. Forgy, Rachel Van Dyken, Meghan March and Vi Keeland to only name a few!

Please note that I am the ONLY reviewer on the blog beyond a few guest reviews. It has been brought to my attention that people not associated with my blog have been requesting ARCs please if you ever question a request please email me at the blog's email.

Review! Denial By Lisa Renee Jones

Book one in the CARELESS WHISPERS series. This is a standalone spin-off of the INSIDE OUT series (soon to be a TV show) that follows Ella Ferguson, Sara McMillan's best friend.

Ella Ferguson awakes alone in Italy, unsure of who she is, and a gorgeous man has claimed her as his own. He’s tall, dark, and sexy, with money and power, the kind of man who makes a girl want to be possessed. And he does possess her, whispering wicked wonderful promises to her, stealing her trust and her heart. Soon though, the past finds her, yanking her from a cocoon of passion and safety. Everything is not how it seems. The truth will shatter her world, but it can set her free, if it doesn't destroy her first.

This is a spin-off of the Inside Out series, and it takes place in the same world, so there are some characters you have met before, and some who are new.

It is always hard to review a book that is a cliffhanger and a spin-off without giving away the cliffhanger, plot points of the other books, or too much about the book itself. Especially when the whole point of the book is the unknown factor, how she got where she is…and what happened?

The story of what happened is told through flashbacks and Ella’s POV, as Ella remembers the reader is made aware, so in a lot of ways, the reader is Ella, and experiencing things as Ella.

The writing is both strong and engaging. The characters are compelling, although for a lot of the book you are not sure, or at least I was not, if you like them or if you can trust the information being given. Neither seem trustworthy, and both seem like there is a lot they are not telling, be it because they don’t remember or through intentionally withholding the truth. But, this makes it a more interesting story, as a reader you are on edge, wondering what will happen, what is true, what is not, and how all of the events tie together.

There is definitely enough here to make me want to get to the next book, to know what will happen, to know the rest of the story. I am looking forward to the 2nd part.

And, good cliffhanger…it definitely ended at a point that left you wondering....
