About me

Hi I'm Janna and I am a book whore! I started this blog after being a part of another for years. While being a big blog may be nice I like to stay true to me having a love for books, that's why I blog. I love books and I want to share that love with my readers of this blog. I love to read, books are my escape and a huge part of my life besides my husband and two children. I am honest and sometimes sassy in my reviews but never mean. Some of my favorite authors include Kristen Ashley, Penelope Douglas, T.M. Frazier, M.N. Forgy, Rachel Van Dyken, Meghan March and Vi Keeland to only name a few!

Review! Sweet Home By Tillie Cole

At age twenty, Molly Shakespeare knows a lot.

She knows Descartes and Kant.

She knows academia and Oxford.

She knows that the people who love you leave you.

She knows how to be alone.

But when Molly leaves England's grey skies behind to start a new life at the University of Alabama, she finds that she has a lot to learn — she didn't know a summer could be so hot, she didn't know students could be so intimidating, and she certainly didn't know just how much the folks of Alabama love their football.

When a chance encounter with notorious star quarterback, Romeo Prince, leaves her unable to think of anything but his chocolate-brown eyes, dirty-blond hair and perfect physique, Molly soon realises that her quiet, solitary life is about to dramatically change forever...

Mature New Adult novel — contains adult content, highly sexual situations and mature topics. Suited for ages 18 and up*
Normally I tend to not put quotes from a book in my reviews, a lot of the times the books are arcs and the quote could possibly change.  Since Sweet Home has been out for a while, and honestly I am kicking my own ass because it has been on my kindle for a while now and I am just now reading it, I think the quotes I am about to use are safe to post.  I will get to the rest of my review in just a few minutes but these quotes are some of what made me love this book.

“Hey Mol.
Hey You.
You gonna give up that lucky sweet kiss?
If that's what you want.
It most definitely is.”

“I don’t remember Romeo being this pushy with Juliet!”.....He arched his eyebrows meaningfully. “And look at how that worked out for them. My way is better—less death, more orgasms.”

“It only took Romeo one look at Juliet and his fate was sealed. Maybe I’m just like my namesake, and maybe you’re just like yours.”

“Not at all, Shakespeare, but hear this. I’m gonna fuck you, but I’m also gonna make love to you. I’m gonna own every goddamn piece of your soul, and I’m never gonna let you go. You’re gonna scream my name over and over until it’s permanently lodged in your friggin’ throat. You’re not gonna be just a fuck to me, Mol—you’re gonna be my fuckin’ salvation!”

“I never knew before tonight what it felt like to be wanted… just me for me.”

Those are just a few of the quotes that I loved in this book.  I could bombard this review with a ton more but I won’t because I want you to be intrigued enough to go and grab Sweet Home for yourself and find out why Romeo and Molly won my heart over.

I have always said and believed that love could heal all wounds and Molly and Romeo are both wounded in their own personal ways.  When you discover not just the loneliness that Molly feels, but what Romeo has gone through throughout his life you want to heal them both, individually, but together they heal each other.

Sweet Home is so much more than two college kids falling in love, it is so much more than football.  What it is, is a romance between two people who have gone through a hell of a lot and found each other when they needed each other the most.

I loved how Romeo was with Molly.  Was he dominant, jealous and a lot crazy about her?  Hell yes he was, but especially for him, what he was feeling was so knew and he couldn’t bare the thought of him losing her it brought me to tears.  Romeo’s situation wasn’t only heartbreaking, it was life changing.  Noone deserves what Romeo went through, no one.

Molly’s past is filled with pain, loss and heartbreak.  I felt so much for character, I wanted to show her that she wasn’t alone.  She needed Romeo just as much as he needed her.  When I say these two healed each other, they really did.  Molly has lost everyone in her life, so her taking a chance with Romeo is a huge step for her.

I have many of this author’s books on my kindle still and prior to typing up this review, I finished Sweet Rome, which I will be reviewing in the next few days.  I know some of her other books are darker but I am so excited to read them.  Tillie Cole has sucked me into her writing and this book whore can’t get enough.  I have a feeling I will not only be binge reading the remaining books of this series, but her others as well.

I highly recommend Sweet Home to New Adult Romance fans who like more than just a sports book, or a college themed book, but something that shows pain, healing, love, trust and overall the belief that can heal all wounds.
