No regrets. Just lessons learned. Having lived through the torment of losing his first love to someone else—all because he never spoke up—Sydney Maricopa vowed never to repeat that mistake again. So when he finally admits he’s fallen for his new best friend, he refuses to lose her too, especially once he realizes his feelings for her might be requited. There’s only one problem. Her perfect boyfriend. Still, Sydney’s determined to fight for the girl he loves this time. He has what it takes to go up against Mr. Perfect. Most importantly, he and his new best friend have something even her boyfriend can’t compete with—their profound connection. One he intends to use to win her over. Until he finds out what she’d be giving up if she chooses Sydney. Something no one should ever give up. Would he dream of selfishly asking her to? Or should he do the honorable thing and sacrifice his own happiness for hers? Allow the girl he loves to sail off into the sunset with another man as he stands back and watches in agony . . . again?
I had forgotten how much I loved Elizabeth Reyes and her ability to just suck you into to her stories. I admit it I had fallen behind with other books because of reviews I had that needed to be read. When the opportunity came to review Again I jumped at it. If you haven’t had the opportunity to read any of her books, even if it is not this one, check this amazing author out just so you can understand my love for her books.
Again will have you setting your kindle, or whatever format you use, down so that you can take a moment to get your emotions in check before picking it back up and continue reading once more. I fell in love with Sydney when we first read about him in Forever Mine, we may not have seen the total package of who Sydney was but you just knew that you wanted to know more about him. Or, well at least for me that is how I felt.
I think that some of the best romances or claims of soul mates start off as friendships. Maybe it is because that is how I feel when it comes to my husband but I truly believe that. Sydney and Emi start out as friends, and while Sydney doesn’t want to admit that he has done it yet again, he has fallen for his best friend. I can understand why he didn’t want to admit it after he had already fallen for a best friend, to only lose her to someone else. I just really loved Sydney, I can’t say one specific thing that made me feel like this with him but it was just the overall package I think. Emi, I loved her as well. I admit normally I end up not liking a heroine for one reason or another but Emi I never had that issue.
Again revived my love for not only this author but for the friends to lovers genre in general. It’s no secret that I have been in a huge book funk, and for every book I have love there have been five that I hated, but Again was one of the ones that I loved. Sometimes you need to revisit an author you haven’t read in a while to remember why you loved them in the first place.
